The PTA (parent and teacher group) is made up of parents who come together to support their children's education, with links to the staff at Heriot School.

A PTA is also formed to fundraise for the benefit of the pupils at the school. Our fundraising efforts provide important funding to the school for such things as; classroom resources, school trips and camps, sports equipment and uniforms.

Another important role for a PTA is as a way for parents to become more involved with their children’s school. By working in partnership with the school, a PTA can help to develop strong links between home and school. It helps you keep up with what is happening in your school and how you can support your child’s education.

It provides an opportunity for everyone to work together towards a common goal and is open to all parents and teachers even if they only have a small amount of time available to get involved.

The PTA connects you to other families through meetings, events, and communications, and helps build a sense of community.
